My first out of 24 Advent DIY projects are these shoe cuffs. I was long in search for a suitable material and, after I couldn’t find one, I simply took an old leather pants which I have become too small (
) for that. If You also take an old leather pants, puts the scraps on the side, we will need it for a few later DIY projects
.
For this fashion DIY tutorial you need:

1.) Patterns (my love was so nice and draw a picture for you), print this PDF file.
2.) desired fabrics (for me an old leather pants)
3.) about 20 cm long rubber band by 1.5 cm wide (depending on 2x10cm ruffles top)
4.) 8 cm long, 3 cm wide rubber band (for the heels)
5.) Marker or pen
6.) some hair clip, or pins
7.) Scissors
8.) sewing kit (sewing machine)
(9.) tape measure or ruler, I forgot to photograph it
)
THE FASHION DIY TUTORIAL
Print and cut out the template.
Turn out the fabric and take it twice(!!!), place the template properly with the fabric wrap, stuck with hair clips and mark the cut. I have taken hair clips because the fabric was too thick for small pins, and I wanted to avoid the holes of large pins.
Now cut two 10 cm long rubber pieces (1.5 cm in width for the ruffles).
Measured away from the top of the cuffs mark at a height of 3 cm.
Now tighten the rubber bands. You will notice that the bands stretch very strong, this is a must, however, because otherwise there are no ruffles. Fix them using hair clips or pins.
If you sew with a sewing machine, put the machine on a loose zig-zag stitch as shown in the picture.
Now the rubber bands are sewn on. It is important that the bands are always tense, otherwise you will get irregular ruffles.
Neat the edges with about a half of a centimeter seam. I did this at the finish of what turned out to be rather complicated. Well, from mistakes you can lear a lot
.
Cut from the thick rubber band (3cm wide) two 4cm long pieces. The jagged points can be sealed with the flame of a lighter.
The rubber bands now are stuck down. Here you can take pins, since this part is located under the heel and you do not see the small holes there.
Sew on the band (with 1 cm seam allowance).
Finally, sew the the back of the cuffs with a seam allowance of about one centimeter. DONE!
The final result.
Poke the heel in the smaller hole and clap the cuffs on the shoe. It could be that for the first time you come in through the cuffs a bit hard in the shoe, so a long shoe horn is an advantage.
The final result.
The final result of backwards.
