This tutorial for selfmade epaulettes is a belated Easter gift for all who have wanted new Fashion DIY postings. All that you need are a few old shoulder pads (or you buy cheap new ones) and a few chains and studs. How you design your epaulettes, is left to your imagination.
Tip: Before sewing too many chains on the epaulettes, check first the top will withstand the weight of the epaulettes. If the epaulettes get too heavy, they could slip off the shoulder, which is not only unsightly but also can be annoying. If you want them more opulent, just take sequin straps instead of the chains.
For this DIY project you need:

1.) a top
2.) a pair of shoulder pads
3.) several chains
4.) sewing kit
5.) caliper (for shortening the chains)
6.) studs
7.) a little tulle
8.) zipper
THE TUTORIAL:
Unravel the zipper, measure the desired length and sew it on the shoulder pads.
With transparent or black thread sew the first chain to the shoulder pads.
Now stitch on the second chain.
According to your pleasure fix studs on the epaulettes.
Sew the epaulettes on the straps of the top.
From the tulle cut about 12 cm wide strips and sew them slightly curled on the shoulder pads.
To avoid the tulle strips sticking out you should attach the tulle to the carrier at the ending edges of the strips. DONE!
