NEW YEAR’s EVE SPECIAL: Jewelry DIY Tutorial – Stylish Good Luck Charms - Fashion Blog: DIY - Outfits, Shoes & Accessories
Are you fed up with plastic lucky pigs and ladybugs, marzipan lucky mushrooms or plastic bank notes which should accompany your loved ones’ throughout the year as
dust catcher lucky charms?
Delight your friends this time with a homemade lucky charm in the shape of a clover leaf necklace – here I have the DIY tutorial for you.
Material And Tools – For This DIY Project You Need
- Small piece of faux leather
- Small scissors and nail clippers for the fine curves
- Jewelry chain
- Revolving hole and eyelet punch pliers
- Small eyelet and jump ring
- Craft glue
DIY Tutorial: The Step-By-Step Craft Instructions
DIY Step 1 Cutting Out Two Clover Leaves
By using a template draw two identical clover leaves on the back of the faux leather (front and rear of pendant) and cut them out. For the fine curves use the nail scissors. The second clover serves as a reinforcement for the pendant, therefore it should be 0.1 in ( 2 mm) smaller than the front part.
DIY Schritt 2 Glue Together Clover Leaves
Apply craft glue thin on both clover leaves, let them dry briefly and then push the two clover leaves together. Thus the parts adhere better, you can weight them down with a heavy book.
DIY Schritt 3 Punching a Hole
When the clover leaves are adhesively bonded and dry, punch a hole for the eyelet with the hole punch pliers.
DIY Schritt 4 Mounting the Eyelet and the Jump Ring
First mount the eyelet and then the jump ring on the cloverleaf pendant. The jumper ring is necessary, so the pendant doesn’t twist, when you wear the necklace.
DIY Schritt 5 Attaching the Chain
Finally attach the chain on the pendant. DONE!
I’ve tinkered a bit longer chains, and because they can easily put over the head, I did not use an additional chain closure. The smaller your clovers are, the shorter the chain will get and then maybe you need a chain closure.
